Mine found a gold wedding band last week. Too bad i did not find it . A friend at work ask me to borrow a detector as he lost his ring. My first thought is I will give him the ole bounty hunter. Then I thought about it and knew the 70 would find it better with the 6 inch dd coil as he lost it in a barn feeding calfs. He found it and he is now still alive , as his wife let him live because he found it:rofl:

So far, so good, Travis. Haven't been able to spend as much time with it as I'd like. It turned very COLD after I got it. I took advantage of a couple of nicer days but was limited on time during those outings. It's just gonna take some time to learn the machine. While the weather has been bad I have been trying to watch some X70 videos. Warmer days ahead! Up to the low 60's this weekend. Got some flea market trips planned, but might find time to get some detecting in too. The times I had it out, it was a little confusing in that so many of the tones and readings were the SAME for good targets AND for trash. I'm sure I will figure it out eventually.

Glad you could help save his life!

It's just gonna take some time to learn the machine YES Set of batts or 2 Should have you on your way. Have you been over in the Xterra forum? There is some good discussion there. Digger posted a real good article today. Some of it is a bit heady for me, but pay attention to the set up and thresh hold stuff. I am going to try one of the threshhold tricks next time out, if I am in the alum foil.

Jeff

Thanks Jeff. I have been over to that forum and done a bit of reading. Haven't spent much time there yet though. I will continue to read when I can. I'm not worried about it; I'm sure I will learn it! I'm a quick learner!

WOW, you are right Jeff !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Diggers article is GREAT, a must read for all X-Terra owners. There are 15 pages printed out on Word Perfect.

For All Those With Minelab X-Terra 70, 50, 30's Metal Detectors, the chart below may help identify the target in the ground. Pay particular attention to the numbers on your screen and listen to the different sounds. In time you will remember each target, by number & sound, that you've found.

the more you use the x-70, the easier it is to learn its language, I just hope you learn to hunt by tone and NOT by numbers on the screen. Learn to hunt in multi tone, and you'll never be happy hunting any other way trust me!

Thanks, Terry. I'll be working on it just as soon as I get a chance to!

Thanks for the info! I know it will just take time...
