Just a quick thought on those invasive pests who continuously stick their hands in your hole, jump over your coil while you try to swing it, and always want to know "what did you find now?"


I had 3 smaller "helpers" gracing me with their presence last night. Yea, it definitely gets annoying But that hour and a half they spent with me is an hour and a half they didn

to having small children follow you around. In this day and age you run the risk of being accused of something improper all to easily. Small children unattended running around with a strange adult... just sounds like trouble to me.
Wish it wasn't that way but it is.

I don't believe it "takes a village" or a metal detectorist to raise a child. A child is the responsibility of those who coupled to create life. My parents would not allow me to pester the Sh## out of someone planting crops or minding his own business. I don't feel it is my responsibility to entertain and baby sit children that parents have no idea where they are or what they are doing...Been there and done that too many times. I'm a advocate of the hobby and it's promotion. I'm NOT an advociate of being continuely harrassed by children un-supervised by uncaring and absent parents.

Seriously...me, I try to be sociable and I don't want to "mentally scar" any little crumb snatchers, but they are a pain in my butt too. Sometimes I indulge them and sometimes I politely tell them to get lost.

Guess I kind of opened a can of worms. How you deal with it is totaly up to you. Maby the little varmints should be caned! I wouldnt allow my kids to go pester strangers, as a matter of fact, I had to punish my daughter several times for exactly that. I'm not saying go out and save the children, just that It doesnt hurt to provide a decent roll model or give them some of your time.

Call me paranoid but I have seen it happen.....not to me thank GOD! All it takes is to miff one of the little ones or worse yet, have some paranoid parent see you giving pennies away!

Its called "burden of proof." The burden is not for them to prove you are what they say. All they have to do is make the allegation. The nightmare is for you to prove that you are NOT what they allege. Lives have been RUINED even after exoneration!

When kiddies gather, I pack up and split.
