With 9.5" of rain here in our neck of the woods this week since last Tuesday evening, hunting time has been greatly curtailed. Last Mon I did get a hunt in at our old fairgrounds and managed to snag a 1907 Barber dime along with a couple of 50's wheat cents. My buddy and I then hit the "bank" spot on Tues. forenoon and amassed another 175 modern coins and 7-8 wheaties between us. Near the end of that hunt we decided to hit another area of the spot and my buddy promptly nailed a sweet 56 Washington quarter. Hence, hope for a few more silvers from the site.
This morning I had a short window and again hit the old fairgrounds for 3 hours. I changed from the 11" coil that I had been using of late to the 5" laser to work one heavy iron laden spot that over time has yielded us Indians, V's, Buffalos, wheats and Barber and Mercs and one 1877 seated dime my buddy got. On this hunt I was able to eek out a 45p war nickel, 3 wheat cents (20,39 &51) and a 1906 Barber dime. The dime was a good 7" deep and laying around the 79-80 tid mark.
Nothing fancy for settings, DE mode, 0 disc. 85 Sen and g b of 62-66. Go out and get some gals and guys. HH jim tn
