Question is:

Where do you look to get information about where troops might of stopped for the night, look out points, or any other activity. I'm in the Cincinnati area, there was a Fort Washington which is all covered by buildings now. But there had to be some activity away from the fort. Half the fun for me is the research of finding out where to hunt. Never tried the CW angle but would give it a try if I knew of a place.

look at your county historical societies most county's raised troops. look for records as to where they trained

I'd simply google it and you'd be surprised what you'd find. Try: civil war activity Cinncinatti or civil war activity ohio. Good luck. cch

try chronicling america thru the library of congress. most civil war records are their including letter and orders sent from post to post and daily activity records just put your area or a close by fortthat you know of as a key word
