Lock of silver.

Having been dodging tornado warnings and inch after inch of rain of late, finally got a break this afternoon and took the Omega with the 10" coil on to a soccer field for an hour and a half. The nearby middle school and soccer fields are less then 25 years old, but have yielded the occasional wheatie once in a while and usually nice quantities of clad. One of the signals I got today was a solid 84-85 that turned out to be a small lock marked Tiffany & Co 925, with the initial D on it. I've dug some unusual silver pieces over the years, but if I am recalling correctly, the silver lock is a first. It was about 4" deep. Also dug 2 wheat cents, 44 and 53, that both gave a high tone and read a solid 82. I was running disc 0, sen 85 d3 tones and gb of 63-66. HH jim tn

Wonder if that is a charm bracelet lock ??

It's possible, I guess, Elton. It does have a little heft to it, 5.7 dwt. all iron, yes, packing it up to go as I type.;) HH jim tn

I tell ya, with the gas prices and the storms this year, it seems like close to home and shelter is the only hunting we have been getting! Nice Silver!

you were right about it being a charm. Googled Tiffany charms and it showed up on their site...at a nice $150.00 retail. Wish I could get that for it. LOL Think I'll go back are work the area a little better and see if the chain/bracelet might be there. HH jim tn

Hey Jim, if it is any consolation, those storms have been hitting us first, we have been "thinning" them out for you...Yeah right...lol. Hope you guys are able to keep safe as I hear there are more coming tonight. They have been passing just north of us so far today. Any way, Nice lock man, and congrats on the wheat cents! Glad you can get out. I haven't had much luck getting out lately. Maybe wed or thurs. Take care.

Personally, I've found a LOT of Silver over the years but if I found ANYTHING with the name "Tiffany & Co." on it, I'd jump outta my skin! Great find!!
