Hi all :)

Yesterday I helped a fellow who had lost his gold ring in snow. It took me about one minute to locate the ring and that earned me a nice reward for my help :)

Today I went to a small hill in the woods that I figured out must have been used by people as a place to spend time for ages. There I got a nice high sound under a treeroot and this came out

It is a finnish army shooting medal from 1938. It has 813H stamp which means it is made of silver and has its owner's name and battalion engraved on the backside. I'll try to find his relatives and return the medal to them. I did check out our Winter and Continuation War victims and he has survived both wars.

This is a nice find for January 4th since normally we have 20 inches of snow at this time of the year but now there is less than an inch in the woods and the ground is not frozen.

HH,

patti

ps. sorry about the foggy picture, my phone's camera lens is scratched :(

Nice rare find, Wonder how it got on the hill................

These shooting medals are worn with the so called "leave suit" that is only worn on leaves. The medals are not used with a normal service suit. I could imagine that he was there with his girlfriend/fianc

very nice patti.

Great good deed and great find.

If I was a relative, I'd be excited about having that returned. Very nice of you to hunt them down.
