Got out yesterday to do a lil hunting and really hit the jackpot! Had permission to detect a house place where a house burned a few years ago. Not really an OLD site, but dates back to the 30's. Was able to hunt for only about 30 minutes - but I WILL be going back. Got a signal after swinging for about 2 minutes... and this is what I dug up - ALL IN THE SAME HOLE!!!!!!!!!

67 - Half Dollars
133 - pennies
4 Quarters
1 - Dime
1 - Nickle

I haven't had time to look through any of it, but I see a lot of newer stuff in there. Hoping to find some older coins whenever I get a chance to sift through it.

My gosh , I would have wet my pants and hollered for days if I found that. That is a find of a lifetime . Which detector was you using? Congratulations .

You go girl! That is a great dig for sure! Congrats to you. Let us know if there is any silver in there.

Lisa....I know that was fun, congrats.that is some good finds you got there.....I hope you find plenty more God Bless......HH.......Dan

What a catch of a CACHE! You don't need to hunt much when you get the coin finds all out of one hole! You GO Girl! Now that is detecting for sure! Only thing, it may spoil you when you go again and may only find a few and be disappointed! But have fun and don't get overly hot and keep away from those crawly critters! :) May God Bless with more Caches! Amen! Ma Betty

I was using the Minelab x70.

I haven't looked through them yet, Terry. No idea what's in there, however, I did notice some 1970's and a 1992 (half dollars) while picking them out of the hole. Knowing me (the GREAT PROCRASTINATOR) it will take me forever to get around to cleaning them up and looking them over to see what I have.

I can't imagine WHY all of that was in one hole! None of it was in a bag, box, purse... nothin. It was like someone just dug a hole, dropped the money in and then covered it up. It was about 5 inches down. Probably 50 yards from where the house had stood, and close to a fence line. The grass over the hole was a little over ankle high. The site isn't one you would really expect to find much of anything worth while, but it's close to my house and I didn't have but a few minutes to hunt. I figured it wouldn't hurt to ride over there and see what might turn up. Needless to say, I will be going back as soon as I get a chance.

Wow! What Ah Haul! Girl...You Did Good & That Minelab X-Terra 70 Is An Awesome Machine. I Have Several Machines & The X-70 Is The First One I Reach for When Leaving for A Hunt. Congratulations Lisa!

Can you say cache! Very cool. I'll bet you were stoked.

What I think happened is: (since the coins were not found in any sack or container of any kind) I believe whoever had the coins in a jar or whatever when the house caught on fire...took them outside, dumped and buried them in a hole for safe keeping and maybe haven't had the chance to go back and get them, so Lisa.......someone may come lookin' for you and their lost, buried coins! Just hope their nice folks and not like the people of the old house were on your purchased mountain land! Let us know what you found when you have time to clean and date them! You will sure have a ball seeing all those coins that God blessed you to find! Amen! May God Bless with more and more coins and nice finds! Amen! Ma Betty
