Looking at a Fisher 1235.......

never owned a Fisher before. Any comments on this unit? Thanks.

great basic unit, easy on batteries light on the arm and it will not pass up a coin even in hot dry sand....to date this has been my favourite beach unit. I regret trading it in last year. You may want to consider the 1236 also or instead, it cancels out the pops and bangs better according to those that have one.

Call it my gold magnet. Primarily use it at park playgrounds with every sort of ground material. Finds tiny gold items liek ear studs no problem. Gets near a coin and you know it. Does suffer from RF interference though. Mine got busted yesterday at a hunt. Darn rotary knob now goes 360 and does not turn off but that's after years of beating.
