Hi All, I'm posting to see if there might be a NICE Closet Queen Ireland made E-Trac out there. I had one and was DUMB enough to sell it to try something else, and now looking to get one back. If you have one and wanting to sell or trade it send me a E-mail. Thanks, Don:help:

I just saw one recently, it was carried by Bigfoot while he was riding a Unicorn LOL! That is how rare finding the Ireland made E Tracs are.

good luck! better build quality, but heavier, I have an Irish made etrac and my buddy has a Malaysian made one and theirs a noticeable weight difference, perhaps better plastic. electronically... not much of a difference GL HH

my excal is irish made, i agree that they are better, a club mate of mine has a malaysian excal that just doesnt work right somethings off about it.

I just bought one on letgo $750.00 with two extra coils an sef and 7.5 minelab..
Whats better about the machines made in Ireland? New ones made in China now?

I see them on Ebay to look for the ones with the white boxes

I have an Ireland one I bought new and there is a difference. I've set my friends up exactly like mine and I hear stuff that his don't even come close to. Thought about selling mine since I got a CTX but just real hard to part with.

what about if it has no box any way to tell? I know mine is an older one but didn't come with a box.

cheers for the help & good luck finding one

By the markings (and S/N) on the box.

how can one tell where it was made ??

thanks.

I dont think there is a way to determine the country they were manufactured in on the older models without original box or registration card. if u call/email minelab with an older serial number theyll tell you it predates their system an they cannot determine manufacture date or country. i believe the only way is to have the box with the matching serial number on sticker. Not all the old white boxes mean it was made in ireland either, malaysian made where also packaged in the old white boxes. if i remember right most if not all etracs that were manufactured in ireland, the serial number would start with XQ but that dont mean its ireland made as older Malaysian made etracs also started with the XQ... i may be wrong tho, getting old my mind dont work like it used to!

thanks for the info DirtFishinPA my etrac starts with a "B" explorer SE starts "XQ1" and neither came with a box but my gut says explorer is the older one.

sorry for the thread hijack fingers crossed it flushes out what you need.

AJ

just so everyone knows the etrac serial number is on a sticker on the back top of control box and the explorer is printed on to the housing on the bottom as in not a sticker maybe there is a clue there ??

If it helps, I currently own both versions and there is not a hint of difference between the two. I have owned two Ireland Etrac's, and three non, and all five were exactly the same. This argument always has been complete nonsense, but you should do whatever you want. The best detector is the one that you have with you, and then you just have to be lucky enough to swing it over something good. Just my $.02

Mark-----I couldn't agree with you more!-------1000% in agreement on that one! (and I've owned/used them both also)------------Del

Hi AJ, If you have the instruction manual and look on the back of it, it will only have the addresses for Australia, Ireland and the USA. the Malaysian info will not be printed on the back . Hope this helps, Don
