General Rules

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

Advertisements not adhering to the above rules will be deleted without warning or notification.

Looking for a used detector...$200 or less

I have a friend I work with that is wanting to try getting into detecting. He asked me what would be some brands and models to look at...then I told him what they cost and he about freaked. I told him that I thought it would be best for him to get a better machine that was used, vs getting a real cheap new one. He wants to stay under $200 for one. I was thinking something like a Tesoro Silver uMax would be perfect for him. He mostly just wants to see what is in his yard and a few other places he has in mind. Let me know what you have...I'm just the middle man. He gave me some $ for my PayPal account in case I found something.
 
Instead of looking for a Silver µMax, find him something better like a Bandido with manual ground balance and a true threshold all-metal mode.

The Bandido is still the one to beat in the iron nail infested sites, sort of a poor man's XP Deus.

My Bandido is not for sale, a little hunting around you might find one in that price range.

I stand corrected. It's not a Bandit. It's an Outlaw with two coils delivered for $175, Sorry for the misinformation.

Thanks for the huge response from everybody! I think we found him one.

Trust me...this fella doesn't need anything complicated like manual ground balance, etc. This is probably going to be one of those deals that takes it out to the yard a few times, and puts it in in the closet.
 
Found one for him. Thanks to everyone that sent messages. I have another fella that has been asking about detectors and I will try to sway him towards some of the ones that were offered. It's funny to me...When I was into the hobby, nobody ever cared or asked about detectors. Now that I am out and don't detect anymore, there is seldom a month goes by that somebody don't approach me wanting to get into it and needing direction on machines.
