looking for feedback on the SEF coils

For the F75. Good bad or otherwise. Not just for coins, but for the larger objects too. If you have done some comparisons with boost or cache mode or just plain de mode, Id like to hear your opinions.

Right now I am drawing a blank, what does SEF stand for?

Symmetrical Electromagnetic Field, often referred to as a butterfly coil. I believe theyre made by detch, and the only place I know of that sells them is "K". I know theyve been around for a little while, and was hoping to get some user feedback. Thanx

Thanks terry, that SEF was bugging me. I don't have one but I have seen the butterfly coil over at K's, the extra depth sounds good but for me I hunt coins and the bigger coils start to get into the trash and don't work as good. Maybe somebody out there will have you some information.

Good luck,

Ron in WV

Hey Terry,

I asked the same question here on the forum back a couple months ago ( December 14th) and the consensus was that there wasn't that much difference in it for the extra money to buy one.

Here's the link where I posed the question; (cut and paste it into your browser to see the responses)

Hey Curt, Thanks for the info. Its tough to find much info on the coil w/f75.... Looks like I might have to pass on it for now.

Terry I have two SEF coils, one for my explorer and just got one for my sovereign. They have a nice tight detection window and get good depth, a little advantage over the stock minelab coils.
However the stock coil on my F75 performs the same way, actually a bit better with real "windshield wiper" feel to it (the tighter that detection window it seems the better the target seperation) so unless your talking about a different sized coil than stock I dont know what advantage you would get.

You might want to check out nuggetnoggin's youtube videos. In his latest one's he is using a sef coil with a F75. He might be young but he has put in a lot of hours into his F75. When i asked him a question he sent back a long detailed response.
