LOOKING FOR INFO ON 5900 DI PRO

GOLD&OLDIES

New member
Hi,im looking at a 5900 di pro and would like to know what its worth and how good of detecter it is, any info would be appriciated, thanks Kevin

What kind of hunting do you intend to do? What type of sites and soils do you intend to hunt? This is a ford/chevy/ corvette/pickup type of question. And if in response to that question you said: you said "oh, I'll haul onions to market and race in the weekend flat-track", someone would say "there is no vehicle that does all that at the same time, and does it efficiently in its class". It all depends on what your goals are, since various machines are geared for various types of hunting.

The 5900 di pro is basically a 6000 di pro, without auto-ground balance. Not a problem if you're in a geographic locale where mineral change a lot. But would be problem if you're in certain mountainous regions, or intending to use @ salt water wet beaches (where moving closer to, and further away, from the water's edge, affects the ground balance). It is a coin/relic easy-to-use machine. A 4-filter that has a faster swing, good depth, but probably not as good in lots of iron, and not as good at averaging targets, as a 2-filter machine would be.

Since the machine probably scarcely sold for $600 -ish new (?), I can't image it selling for more than a few hundred used, unless still new in the box.

I use a MXT and a garrett,i just came across this detecter and was just wondering how good they are and what they are worth,i see alot of posts from people who use the 5900 and 6000,this one is a 5900 DI PRO PLUS it has the deepscan 950 coil on it. Kevin

Hello all. Just stumbled across this forum and couldn't help but join! (Have been detecting since 1971 and this seems like a great place to visit to enjoy our hobby indoors!)
Golden, The 5900 DI Pro is a great machine. I've had two and they have performed well. Had a bigfoot on one and it was a great match. They are analog...older tech...a bit bulkier/heavier... but as a second machine to your MXT....nice. (I wish I had kept my last one.) Two hundred is what I sold them for (If I remember right?). They do perform well.
