I just bought a Garrett ace 250 and today was the first time I took it out, on the beach. I LOVE IT!
I have been doing a lot of research on the area and good places to go. I watched the DVD that came with my unit and well, for the first time ever I don't think it was that bad, providing that I only went out for about an hour and a half. I ended up finding a blank .223 casing, 2 pennies(cant make out the years on either, too corroded), a quarter, a coat hanger, a long iron rod, about three old soda cans, one fishing lure, some fishing weights, and one dime.
I guess my real concern is about the local laws and even the state laws and what they are. I happened to stop a local fish and wildlife conservation officer and he told me not to worry about it, most cops wouldn't know if there was a law or not. I just went to where I work on the shipyards here in Mayport beach. Only walked about one hundred yards. Also just seeing if anybody else out there that reads this is in the area. Looking for anything helpful, from the more experienced hunters. Anything would be appreciated.
Happy hunting.
