Hey all: Not sure the last time I posted on this forum. I've been using an Explorer XS for the last 3 years. I've learned how to use it efficiently and have made a lot of great finds but it's just so dang HEAVY!!! (I am definitely keeping it though!) I'm looking to buy myself a new detector for a welcome home present when I return from Iraq but want to pick up something lighter. I currently own a 1236-X2 also which I like (broken disc control right now ), and I've used and liked the CZ-6a, so I'm kinda leaning towards the CZ-3D. I was very impressed with how well the -6a I was using was really nailing Nickels! My hunting tastes are mainly old areas such as one-room schoolhouses, old parks and yards, and old homestead sites. I also see that Sunray is now making coils for CZ's as well as a probe like my X-1 that I use on my Explorer. I was looking for input from 3D users who've used it for awhile and what they like and dislike about the machine, as well as suggestions for other machines to look at. From what I've read, the -3D is geared towards older sites with low amounts of aluminum and that's mainly what I was concerned about, since pulltabs and tinfoil are pretty much a given at 95% of my sites. Feel free to email me if you wish. Thanks in advance and Happy Hunting! (and leave some stuff in the ground for me when I get home! )
