I suppose we can go back and post all the issues of every detector made after they were first released.
If they were never addressed that would be one thing obviously but if they were whats the point months, years later.
Btw Ford has faulty cruise control switches that can cause a fire.

I think this problem is still there in 1.09. I'll check later. I bought a used etrac a week ago. Was out playing in the yard the other night got a good hit. I know I had been over that area with my legend. I go get my legend and it hit the target just not quite as good. Profile 3 on mine is a cherry picking profile. I switched from profile 1 to profile 3 as I use one all the time. When i sung over it in profile 3 I barely got a tone and my vdi went from 50 in profile 1 to 15-16 in profile 3. The quarter wasn't that deep. I'm gonna check into tnis more over the holiday weekend.

Let us know. I wouldn’t mind trying a Nox
I would think the 800 and 600 operate pretty equally operating on the same frequencies if you don’t use 20khz and 40 khz not sure.
But many say the legend is pretty close to the 800 in finds even sometimes finding things they missed. I think there is always the possibility of missing stuff with one and finding it with another no matter the brand, model you never know when emi and other conditions play a role even one day to the next.
I think you have to just get in the mindset of enjoy using what you have and don’t worry weather something else is better/worse or what you might have missed.
Just enjoy what you find

Nokta told us that they were working on another firmware version to fix issues with 1.09 , but absolutely nothing yet.
That was aprox. 6 or 8 weeks ago, so I wouldnt hold my breath.

Masking issues.
There have been so many firmware updates over time, that they all have become diluted and foggy.
Keep it in Beach Wet, even on dry ground, and it does ok.
Version 1.07 has been the best for me at unmasking. Recovery 8 park M1 was no problem pulling coins at 8 inches with a few nails above it. I have yet to find any targets in the iron with 1.08 or 1.09.

I have a nox 600 and hate it. It just hangs out with the rest of its buddies. He has a lot of buddies to kick it with too.

I believe 1.10 will come out with the new pin pointer. I don't see why it wouldn't.

Judging a detector after a person's adjustments is not trustworthy as to the efficacy of the detector. It only indicates how effective the person's adjustments are.
No matter the adjustments should a coin go from reading 50 to 15 or 16 just by switching profiles. Now sensitivity may come into play and I need to check and see but the other night it was just weird. 50 in park M1 profile 1. I switched to profile 3 and it goes to 15-16. That's why I said I need to go check my settings and try it again with that same quarter. I have nickels which come in as 23 sometimes 22 on the legend and that is way low. I do agree ones settings can make a good detector look bad. I ran it through Andy Sabisch test garden a couple of weeks ago and it did fine. Park M1 nails almost everything in his test garden. Good bit of difference between M1 and M2. Park M1 is about the best mode.

There are many factors and possibilities.
Every little thing can play a role but assuming even if everyone just ran with factory settings and defaults there are still many things from emi, swing speed, hight, ground conditions, etc that make it difficult to duplicate one person with one detector let alone different people with different detectors.
Comparisons are highly overrated when comparing performance like depth, target id etc when all things like coil size , and settings are equal.
On the other hand when the equipment is not the same a comparison can’t be made either.
Pick a detector you like the feel of, run with it and enjoy.
Or keep worrying about weather something else is better or might find you more and never be satisfied.
Its a slippery slope going down that rabbit hole.
Everyone is always in search of that detector that will go that extra inch, find stuff they missed and pound the same areas 30 times over.
Or you can use the same detector and go to 30 different areas and probably find alot more than buying multiple detectors jmo.

1.04 is and always will be the best version. 1.07 is the next best version.

That's my feelings about them though.

Well 1.07 didn’t cause any glitches and works fine. Cant compare a version with bugs to one that just wasn’t preferred because personal preference and perspectives on how it was used.
Like saying the ford pinto and ford mustang both suck.
