...Just a little while ago;I went SURFIN,BABY!!!,and looked up Pigeon Hill Resort,just down the street from Marcia's-WOWEE!!!
,I found a TON,of info:They opened in the '50's,8 acres,370',of prime Lake Michigan frontage......The resort is secluded from the Lake;by a HUGE bluff/sand dune.There is a stairway,going from This SIDE,UP the bluff and DOWN the LAKE side,to get to the secluded beach...They have a regular web site,that shows an on-line date of 2010,and LOTS of COLOR pics of recent gatherings there,couldn't find any B/W pics,from the early years........There were some REAL nice pics of the beach there,-When Marcia and I walk down to the public use area access point down the road from her,when I look north,the stairway up /down the bluff there,is as plain as day...In the website from 2010,they were trying to sell the individual cottages outright,in that resort,and looking at the buildings,it's easy to see why:"YOU BUY IT,YOU BRING HER UP TO CODE!!!",EVERYTHING in these cement block 50's-era cottages,were crying out for HELP:Roofs,interiors,electrical,plumbing,which HAS to be done to code,if you were thinking of renting it out,which is what they suggested.THAT aside;this whole place,has SO MUCH POTENTIAL:Vintage jewelry,PRE-CLAD COINS,COINS FROM THE LATE 1800'S/EARLY 1900'S??Some of them old coins are
.............OLD post-war cast lead TOYS!!!.......HOW MANY class rings were lost in the beach sand,or in Ms.Lake Michigan??Necklaces?Watches??..It would have been a real sad day,if someone would have bought one of them cottages with visions of a great fixxer-upper,only to lose it to foreclosure..........

ANYWAY:Thanks,Sandtick,for the beach hunting info.............Also,I wonder:with hurricane Sandy making her presence known here last year-AS WELL,as ALL THE OTHER storms that have probly wound their way thru this area,since that resort opened,until NOW:Have the beaches been scrubbed,so we may find some of these old treasures??OR:are they buried deep,never to be "BEEPED",again???TIME SHALL TELL,my friends...............
