Love small town parks!

Went to another small town park in NE Nebraska where I found a silver Washington way back in 1990 with my old $59 unit. Got a deep 32-36 signal on my 305 and about 7" down pulled out a 1910 wheatie. Put the pinpointer back in the hole before I covered it up and got another hit. This time a 1919 wheat. Thinking 2 old wheats in one hole. Not bad! Went around the hole again and on the opposite side got another hit. Pulled up a 1915 Buffalo. 3 oldies in one hole. Very happy. Makes me think how it got lost. I'll bet someone was pretty sad when they lost it because 7 cents bought quite a bit back then.

I agree Bob, that was some serious money back then. I've always imagined someone with holes in their pockets losing coins or kids tripping while playing and it coming out of their hands. But you would think that if money was so precious then that kids wouldn't even have any. But in any event, it is fun to find!

Nice finds Bob ! Pennies were worth something even in the thirties and forties. That is why they came up with tax tokens. Nobody wanted to take the hit on fractions of a cent when sales tax came into play.
