LOVE THOSE HUNTED OUT CAMPS, LTD STYLE

Hi All
Here is what the last 4 hunts to a "Hunted Out Camp" turned up once again. My hunting buddy and I have gotten 4 gold dollars out of this so called camp in the last year. Believe me nothing is hunted out using the LTD and the correct settings for where you are. In the picture is another 1862 Gold Dollar, a few A buttons,US box plate, nap sack hooks, a Rosette US from a horse blanket[ we believe] and the real surprise it the 16--- 41 cal. Volcanic bullets, also called Rocket Balls. They were made by the Volcanic Arm Company just before the CW war. It was the first tube feed under the barrel magazine but it just didn't have the knock down power. The company when broke, and Mr. Winchester ended up with it and hired a fellow Named " Henry" who redesigned it, refined the bullet to a cartridge type hence the " Henry 44 cal rifle". These are rare bullets for they made 41 and 31 cal. These bullets will bring $ 60 to $ 95 on the market if I want to sell them. I may just wait to see what the LTD will be replaced with before a make a move on them. IF you are interested in the setting that I use and these are really pr oven, for pressing the red button down to switch back to DE, from PB they are very weak, broken up or just non existing. I used 50-70 sens, where ever it is most stable, of course you have some noise, PB mode, and most important""""" 0 discrimination, and 4 tones I JUST LOVE MY LTD oh yes my back up is another LTD, wouldn't walk back to the truck for anything else.

John, YOU & Bobby ARE THE MAN!! OUTSTANDING JOB there Brother!! Keep THEM GOLD COINS & BOX PLATES A COMIN!! Les Robinson

Congratulations on those great finds!
I never knew bullets were in that price range. Of course we don't have many of those found in Chicago lol.Do you remember where that gold hit in the VDI angd if it rang up in the 3rd highest tone? I'm assuming around 52 -54 but I might be off a mile.

Good luck at the next hunted out spot you hit!
Mike

I'm also curious about using 4 tone vs 2F or even 3H.

I understand the 4 tone setting mimics the CZ-3D and CZ-70 4 tone setup exactly (which has the 4th "relic" tone for gold and old coins). Is this the benefit?

TIA & HH,
Brian

I have several "hunted-out" camps where I dig, and the "best" machines ever to get swung over them have been the Explorers. I'm trying to decide if spending a good chunk of change on an F-70 or 75 will be worth it. Congrats on those nice finds!!

I had an EX-II and it was slightly deeper in my red clay soil compared to the original F75. Given that the original F75 is claimed to be slightly deeper than the F70 (I've never owned the F70), I imagine that the EX-II would still be slightly deeper than the F70. However, I've now found that the F75 LTD is slightly deeper than my EX-II, in my soil, so if you consider an upgrade, the F75 LTD is the logical choice.

Anymore info on the gold coin?
Orientation, depth etc.
