I have a habit of picking sites to hunt that seem to have a good amount of junk....lol. I hunt in Pro Mode with zero discrimination with iron set at around 30-35. At times I might run at 0 iron for the heck of it. I have seen 2 lists of VDI no's and on one the good targets begin at 40....the other starts at 35. So this is my question....lets say you are hunting with no discrimination at all, what kind of good targets, if any, could you expect to find or you have found in the 1-35 range for iron? This might sound like a dumb question since most of the best targets fall 40 and above.

If its a repeatabl signal i dig it ??? Tinfoil / iron / bobby pins / nailes / other Junk will have a jumpy TID # its hard to say DIh, Mickfin,

some gold chains will register below 40, but i havn't seen any below 35, Yet.

dannygene.....this is the best I could do for the 2 list of numbers I have. I hope clicking on them will make them a little larger. As most will tell you, the tone is the main thing to go by.

I failed to mention, one of the lists came off the forums and the other from a website I could not relocate.

Gold will vary on the VDI scale.
For example I air tested 3 rings all 14k solid gold.
A 'filigree' (I believe it's called) kinda open pattern but wide on top read in the mid-40s.
Another wedding ring with ice mounted on it read at 54.
Last but not least Grandma's old thick heavy wedding band read in the low 60s.

Long story short: dig it all.
