What is the difference in these lower shafts then what comes stock on the Explorer SE Pro. I know they have a little extra wiggle on the minelab ones which could lock a little better for less wiggle. Is this the reason for the lower shafts or just a replacement for a broken one???

Thanks!

[size=large]can be replacement. but also extra rod for extra coil. faster trading in the field. some don't mind the extra few minutes to trade coils and then some prepare in advance for it. i imagine rods break from time to time. i got mine for my 8"x 6" sef coil.

There is a diifference in the S XS first and second machine in the lower rod. The first rods are aluminum with a grove in the back of the rod to insert the coil wire into as it goes up the lower rod. This was ok but the wire on the bigger coils became larger and tended to make the sliding of the lower rod into the upper rod tight and stick at times. The newer lower rod is fiberglass and the wire goes into the inside of the rod. It is easy to use a shoe string to pull the wire up through when you are changing coils with the same lower rod.

Just some info fer ya.

Thanks for the info. I thought they had made one that is a little tighter since they wiggle a little when extended. My first Se I added an extra shim that helped. My SE Pro is a lttle wiggly now but not enoug to have to add a small shim to make it clamp a little tighter. I cut a few with different thickness until I got the best fit. I guess that is more of a cam lock issue and not the lower shaft anyway. Thanks again,
Tim
