Hello to all:
It is possible to make a metal detector type IB with LVDT NE/SA5521 or the AD598 ?.
Any commentary is welcome

In principle, LVDT chips can be used to make an IB VLF metal detector, but not one good enough to be worth the trouble. LVDT's operate at low power, demodulate the reactive rather than the resistive component; require very little gain since the "target" is nearly as big as the "searchcoil" and right in the middle of it; and, having a balanced receiver, incorporate little if any AC filtering.
So, although the basic building blocks are there, the chips aren't useful for making a metal detector.
