There's no hard, fast rule because it will depend upon the ground , the settings used, he sweep speed, etc. However, I was working three renovation sites last fall with my M6 & 6" EQ2 DD coil and had great performance in and around trash, mainly iron nails, and in less littered areas I got hits on smaller coins down to 7".slowswing said:How deep could you expect this coil to find coins in low mineralized ground.
Keep in mind that DEPTH is a benefit from working lower-trashed sites. JUNKY sites will mask deeper coins and other small targets so you need to have good, quick response and recovery (you'll get that from the M6 and 6" DD coil), and use a slower sweep. Naturally, the more trash you recover the better depth and responsiveness you'll have from the 'hidden' deeper targets.slowswing said:Mainly hunt playgrounds, schools, or ballparks that have a fair amount of junk.
