M6 Question

The Excelerator 2 Pro coil. It works with the DFX. Would it work with the M6. I see a 5 inch for sale, be nice to have a little one just in case.

I believe all coils that work on the DFX will work on the M6 , MX5, MXT's and all V-rated coils will work on the coils mentioned and V3, V3i , and VX3. GS

If it will work on the DFX then it will work on the M6. I have never used the 5 inch coil but the 5.3 Whites coil is really nice on the M6. It is a 6 inch concentric coil and ID's really well especially on bottle caps.

for the slower-sweep MXT series models than it is the DFX and other up-line models. White's makes a 6½" Concentric coil, which is labeled 5.3 Eclipse, that I feel works better all-around in a trashier environment that the 5" DD or their own 4X6 DD 'Shooter' coil. I used the 5" DD way back after it was introduced and Oregon Gregg has/had (?) one for his M6 that worked okay for him in trashy sites. It competes well with a lot of the competition in really trashy environments. Not that it can't be out-performed, but for most models in its class that is a good smaller-size DD coil for the M6.

Yes I have had good luck with the detech 5" round DD coil on the M6. It worked well in trashy areas. I preferred it over the 4x6 DD.
