M6Pro?

Do we think it would be possible if Whites could add the additions as they did on the MXT?

I don't think it would be practical for them to do it .I think most people bought the M6 because the MXT didn't have tones that the MXT Pro does ( along with a backlight and the newer quick ground tracking feature ) . I think now most folks are going to opt for the MXT Pro over the M6 .I think the M6 will remain a great seller to the coin+ jewelry hunters who want a good machine and don't need the extra features the new MXT Pro offers and want to save a few bucks ( people like me who don't go nugget shooting much at all and don't hunt at night ) .The fact the coils are interchangeable between the MXT ,DFX and the M6 could lead people to buy an M6 as a back-up .Just my thoughts .

The M6 with the DD coil is really all you need.

I used that setup and found it to be very good. In fact, I found
more with the M6 using that set up than I did with the V3.

There is alot to be said about simplicity!

Been doing a lot of evening and night hunts because it's so hot. The light switch is connected to the machine power switch so it only works when the machine is on. I tried several different configurations of the LED's. From reflecting mirrors, one LED, 2 LED's, acrylic light bars.... you name it. You can still see left over glue... None worked better that this configuration. You will need to buy 3mm/.125 diameter LED's, sub mini switch and toggle seal (not shown in the picture) . So under $15 worth of parts and about 2 hours. You need either green, blue or red LED's for night use. Don't use white or it will mess with your eyes. Also I already posted some time back that I cranked my internal threshold up so there is a slight hum. I was going to panel mount the threshold pot for adjustment but the threshold holds very steady without it. So there you have it - an M6 with threshold and lighted display hence the M6pro model. If I was smart enough to add ground grab I would.

I doubt it would be worth the trouble, sales volume wise, when it does nothing to improve the actual detecting function of the detector. Especially considering the same extra options are already available on another machine in the lineup. JMHO

There's a lot of the same options on most all the machines. I'm pretty sure if you gave a coil option on the MXTpro for someone who hunts old trashy home sites they wouldn't choose the 12 inch coil. This would improve the performance of the machine. Having a 2 tone mode on the M6 would improve my way of hunting also. I really think 1 is too little and 7 is too much. But that's just me. I just like 2 tones but I'm not buying the MXTpro with the big coil to get it in relic mode hunting coins. Whites could have easily had more tone choices on the coin mode on the Mxtpro. Maybe on the MXTpro+ it will have it?

Nice improvements Kenny. was the machine on while you adjusted the threshold or did you adjust then turn on and test?

You don't even have to remove the battery while doing it. So yes, the machine was on while adjusting. Make sure you have the gain set to about where you like to hunt. Then set the threshold.
