Made it out Tuesday morning for a few hours with my new friend and

Mike Chgo area

Well-known member
We hit an area around a park that had been cleared of underbrush but no luck there. We took off and Dave stopped at an old plantation style and asked for permission to detect around it. The lady and her brother were very nice and said yes. They said the house was from the 1850's. I had no luck there either. David got a 53 Wheat and a large penney from the early 1800's. We had a good time but it appeared the place had been hunted before. I wonder if the guy had a detector and just wanted to see if we would find anything. Who knows. I'll be heading back to Memphis Friday morning. Jerry said that he may get some more of his vacation time so we may take a little trip to Western Arkansas and finally hit the area I've been drooling over for a few years. Found what appears to be a couple of long abandoned homesites with the aerial photos on Terra Server. Take care all and good luck if you make it out.

Congrats on getting out and, though the pickings were scarce, I hope you find more at where you are wanting to hunt! :) God Bless! Betty

Get them old sites hunted already! There are goodies to be rescued there! :)
