Patent US5576624 gives a brief description of the lag in ferrites and compares the decay with ferrites in the earth's field but it still isn't the article I had in mind. He went to great pains re the exitation and decay in one article or patent.
In the "detailed discription of the invention" section, patent US5506506 gives a good run down on the way non-ferrous objects with short or long time constants are effected during pulse-on and pulse-off and is the easiest read yet from Candy on this aspect.
