Maiden Voyage XP Deus

I got out today to an old home site ( corn field ) for the first run of the Deus. I was using a modified version of Deus Fast and was pleased with the unit. One of the LCs was a solid 9" down and it hit at 92-3 with no doubt about dig or not. The big Crotal was at about 10" and honestly as I was digging it I was thinking Bud Lite for sure. Overall I came away pleased for how the unit worked. I've got a ways to go to be comfortable with it but for today it beeped and I dug.

I love that bell Todd.man I never find them whole that large.I'm really glad you like the new unit.Keep digging everything not iron for awhile and you will have that machine mastered.Thank you for the pics. HH Good luck on the next run! Jim T

You have to love it when it locks in and you know that you have something good. I do watch vdi numbers but the sound is the key. I have also set up a exact copy of my main program at 4 hz that I can toggle over to to see how the target reacts. Using it in a farm field and digging some of the the "don't dig signals from the switch to 4hz" has helped build my confidence. Big iron has been, and probably will remain a challenge, but I have used it enough to be right most of the time. If it is easy digging, I sometimes like to dig the ones I say I wouldn't dig just to help my knowledge base. Looks like a great start to me. I love the bell. I hate finding big pieces of them but love them when they are whole. Good luck!

That crotal bell is some what a stunning find especially as it still all intact,i bet that if you get a cocktail stick and tease the dirt out from the inside the bell it will ring again like the day it was made,i have a fair few complete ones of various sizes over here in the UK and have one on my keyring, would your crotal have been made in the US or possibly shipped over from the UK ??
