MAKE YOUR OWN TID METER

Sandmagnet

New member
Hi everyone,
Here's a few pics of my Dan Clark desined TID meter I built, total cost about $20 + 3 hours. I used it during my hunt for CW relics that I posted and it works well. I only added the on/off switch and kept the same meter lead connections. The face plate is held in place with velcro, so I can remove it easily and change the chart in the clear plastic pocket. The mount is made of aluminum that is JB welded and fits in the original mount bracket. I got tired of trying to find a good used meter and glad I built this one. The VOM meter cost $1.99 on sale. Looks like a nice setup. I made one many yrs ago and it worked great. I then got used to using the SOV without a meter. Maybe will consider making another.

I find the coil connectors are hard to find these days, do you or anyone have a source for them?

What pins does the meter connect to? Perhaps its time to look up Dans instructions again.

Thanks for posting the pics

IT'S GREAT TO GET MORE INFO ON THE TARGET, ESPECIALLY IN ROOT INFESTED AREAS. GO TO DAN CLARK'S SITE AND GET THE PLANS, WIRING FOR IN LINE CABLE AND CONNECTORS!
