What an afternoon.
I googled the nearest Unites States Marine Corp recruiting office and drove there only to find they moved and it was now an army recruiting office but I went inside anyway and they where no help and did not want to help me :-(
So I googled the next nearest Marine Corp recruiting office and went there and they at least took the time to look at the ring and said they would not be willing to help but did tell me the ring was an old school Marine Corp ring (from years ago)
but one of the officers there told me to try finding the LEATHERNECK CLUB because it is a local club for old school Marines. With a little more research I found the Commandants phone number and gave him a call. Jack the Commandant at the Leatherneck club was very nice and said he knew two old timers in the club who love doing this kind of thing so he took all my info asked details about the ring and then asked me to find the phone number of the manufacture to make the clubs research easier which I did. Way to go Jack I wish him and his club success in finding the owner so he can have his piece of history that is irreplaceable returned to him
If anyone has any more ideas on how I can return this ring to the owner please respond.
Thank you to everyone who helped me get this far your advice was great and I followed everyone's advice.
