The Garrett Mark II is doing what it is supposed to do as far as a PI is concerned, and that's to beep on all "ALL" targets. The trick to get some good usage out of the Mark II is to use it in the deep water, where there are a lot less junk targets, and dig the deep ones, the ones with a quieter signal. Nails ans bobby pins usually give a double-beep, so you can leave them in the ground. There is a learning curve to any PI, and it's not for everyone. However,....take it to a hunted out beach, and you will soon find out it hasn't been hunted out at all. You always dig a lot more targets using a PI, but it is DEEP and will get the gold rings that other detectors can't get. In the right hands and places, it's a killer. In the shallows of freshwater lakes, you dig way too many targets. It's definitely not a do all machine.
