MASTERHUNTER CX PLUS

TXPIRATE

New member
Just bought a new one this Saturday along with the super sniper coil. Only hit a few tot lots yesterday hunted 52min found 11 pennies 1 quarter.
I like this detector alot. So any tips will be greatly appreciated.

- - use it!

And follow the manual.

Hey, congrats on the new CX Plus!:detecting:That's a really great machine and priced quite reasonably. I don't have the CX Plus, but I do have the original Grand Master Hunter as well as the CXII and CXIII. I know that Uncle Willy and John use the CX Plus quite regularly and they will be able to chime in with some excellent advice for you. Dahut's right, too. Use it (practice, practice, practice) and follow the manual, of course.

You're gonna love that dual range dicrimination and the fact that the CX Plus can use so many different search coils.

Best of luck to ya'!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

Some of the best finds I ever made were with a Garrett CXII. That one instrument first sold me on the Garrett line.
Personally, I could never reconcile the ergonomics of the thing, but whatever floats your boat. I may end up with one again, one day.

I like to use the true all metal mode when hunting in areas where there is silver. The CX bangs pretty good on silver coins. In trash areas, I hunt in discriminate mode, and flip back and forth between true all meta mode and disc. mode.

I love the Camo Tape Jacketing technique. I've started doing it to everything:

I use a bottom layer of bubble wrap or thin foam, cut to shape. Then I piece together the cut panels with duct tape and a little Velcro.
Oh, and lets not forget the grip tape on the hand grip!

I cant wait to do it to my GTP 1350 :clapping:

Hi everyone, dose anyone know if i can still get the coil pins that hold the coil to the bottom rod, for the Master Hunter ADS7. If any of you have any i will buy them, i need two.The ones that came with the detector(used) was medal i think that would interfere with detecting would it not? Thanks Dean

Call Garrett directly. They can help you.

Thanks everyone i will call Garrett. One guy said that those bolts were brass, that is what is in the coil now. Dose that sound right?? would that interfere with the coil? I have tryed to find rubber or plastic, but the hole is smaller than other coils. Thanks Dean

Try running the detector with threshold up to around maximum or so and see if you get more depth ... it works very nicely with the cx3
