You are an electronic engineer with a wealth of experience using metal detectors. What is your opinion about being able to detect a target while the threshold is in null. You have written and excellent book on metal detectors and use both the DFX and Explorer.

I see the value in a faster recover even if only for a positive hit in all metal or discrimination. However, iron mask, FAST and the multitude of recovery speeds on the DFX seem to have lost haft their value if we can still detect while the threshold is in null. I have tested many Explorers and DFX and cannot get them to detect while in null. If they will detect in threshold null then I am really doing something wrong.

Your thoughts will be appreciated.
