May have a future problem Help!

I have a x-terra 705 and noticed the other day that when I screw the cable coil into the control box ..there is a little play when I grab the piece that actually is mounted on the control box. It will twist 1/4 " each way is this normal . Or is this a future problem later on ??? You know the story ...I don't want to send it in unless I have to.

Thanks
Ron

I won't say that it is a potential problem, but I won't say it isn't either. What I will say is that my Explorer has been that way for a long time w/o issue.

OK thanks at least I have something to go by. I will keep an eye on it.

Mine 705 does the same thing.

I've had over 6 xterra control boxes and all of mine were tight.

If I had that problem I would call ML and see what they have to say......

I suppose that if it's still under warranty I'd make plans to send it in, but I'd wait 'til I'm done for the season unless it actually became a problem.
There's no reason to crank the nut down hard, so even if it's loose you shouldn't twist it enough to do harm.

For what it is or isn't worth, my Xterra coil connector is tight.

That's my plan. I have a yr + on the warranty Thanks. I'm convinced it's not right and will send it in later on

Thanks

I would send it in. Mine is tight. I have taken mine apart a few times now and it would be a simple fix. Under warranty though, send it in for sure.
