Maybe it will, maybe it won't...

It worked fine last night. This morning I got up and it will show me I have e-mail, but won't let me read it when I click on it. It won't let me close outlook express. When I am offline, and click on Start, then windows explorer it just sits there doing nothing. It won't even let me shut down the computer. It's like the task bar doesn't work. Any ideas? Maybe I'll just bring it back to the guy who fixed it. I am thinking I closed something that didn't re-open.

If you have these and run them and it still doesn't work then go to the reairman.
Hope this helps

try restoring it to a previous restore point when everything worked.

Ronbo, maybe this isn't good advice, but when my computer freezes up or won't shut off I just pull the plug out of the wall and replug it quickly! I have a surge protector, so it is just as if the power goes off and when the Monitor asks if cable is attached I push the button to turn the computer on and start all over again. You may lose something you're working on this way and haven't saved, but this is what I've done if I can't get the escape button to work or can't do anything at all.
I've done this ever since I got my computer 4-1/2 years ago.
Hope you can get it running or fixed okay!
God Bless!
Betty

I had problems with my computer not shutting down or freezing up and a friend told me how to fix this.
1. Go to START button and left click.
2. Go to MY COMPUTER and left click.
3. Go to LOCAL DISK (C:) right click.
4. Go down to PROPERTIES and left click.
5. At the top you will see 5 tabs, left click on TOOLS.
6. Go to ERROR-CHECKING and left click.
7. A box pops up saying CHECK DISK LOCAL DISK (C:), left click on both:
()AUTOMATICALLY FIX FILE SYSTEM ERRORS
()SCAN FOR AND ATTEMPT RECOVERY OF BAD SECTORS
8. Left click on the START button at bottom of box.
The computer will take about 25 to 30 minutes to scan and fix all problems. I did it and my computer works fine now. I hope this helps you too. Let me know. Paul.

if you are getting bad sectors, your hard drive is dieing. Didn't mean to be mean though.

is a XP and is less than 1 year old. When I first got it home it wasn't operating right and I tried this Scan thing and now my computer works fine.
