it would be a great way to get in some good press for detectorists...something which our hobby could really use right now!! Especially those poor folks in virginia. You could even mention this on the show, or in the paper. Just a thought <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
I hope the owner is found. That's something that is probably pretty important to someone.

USMC, 1967-1970? Most likely in USMarine for three year, may have done 3 tours of Nam, but not likely. RHT, you might just search US Marines and Vietnam, just never know. Also could put info in DAV, VFW and Legion Magazines (I get all three). I served two tours in Nam with Army and I know I be going crazy if that was my ring. Are there any Military base or anything in area of find? Going to be a hard one, unless you get really lucky. Too bad Unit info wasn't on it. Lot of these sold by companys that advertise in above Veteran magazines.

Didn't it take quite a while before they put up the Vietnam War Memorial (like ten years)? If so, I'm thinking maybe it was bought long after the war. Maybe it was bought at the Memorial? A search of the names on the memorial might be a good idea. Just my thoughts.
