Meager finds.

Not much to show or brag about, but we had a good time at our club hunt today. I got a naked silver ferry pendant or maybe it's Tinker-Bell with no clothes on.........:), a campfire pendant I believe, a nasty looking 1896 Indian, an 1899 and a 1901 V nickle, 29, 27 44 and 46 wheaties. No silver for me today, but overall it was a nice hunt for everyone. Hope to have some more pictures to post later on of some of the other member's finds........;) HH.

Not bad Eddie,I had great expectations for the weekend, found couple wheaties,41 quarter, small silver ring, very old spiggot.Went to drained lake and searched beach and didnt get any signals,Hmmm.Got home last night and found fortune cookie insert(havnt ate chinese so dont know where it came from) said dont let big expectations diminish small successes. Also "BEAT This" stopped at my dads house and helped him do a few things, then showed him the awsome power of the explorer, he insisted on doin the diggin, he nailed a wheatie with shovel and we found 2 1/2 cent trade token. Its not what you find but the experience, When the old man was diggin and havin fun that BEATS ALL

Anytime you get V Nickels, especially 2 in a day for our state I think that's a darn good day. You tied my record of 2 and the IH is always a nice bonus. Not sure what to think of the pendant found in a camp like this one. Your right in everyone having a great time and weather was outstanding. Jack is still on his high and I'll try to get pictures of the bracelet in a little more clarity for all to see. To bad he won't be here to enter it but he is one happy camper. He called last night to see how to access the forum. His excitement from the time he found it till he left my place was pleasure in itself even with the little I found.

Not bad at all Eddie. I have one spot that is worse on V-Nickels and Indian Head Pennies up here. One of the Indian Head Pennies that a friend found looked like the Indian was about to jump out at you when you looked at it. The head was bubbled out of the coin and the V-Nickels come out red and pitted so bad that one time we went to scratch the front of one to get the crud off, that the entire face of the coin come off. Again, nice finds and keep that coil swingin'.

Funny how certain coins look when they come out of the ground. I guess it's all on the soil conditions and the different fertilizers that are used. HH.

I think Lee got two V's and three or four buff's. Ron got an Indian on his last target and he shouted, "I can go home now". I'm hoping everyone will bring their finds to the next meeting so I can get some pictures and get a tally of all that was found.

That's great!! I have only found two good for tokens. One for 12 1/2 cents in trade at a saloon and billiard hall and the other was a Johnson's dairy token good for a 1/2 pint of cream. That's neat that you can get your dad out there with you. I'm sure if my dad was still here that he might enjoy this great hobby as much as I do. Keep up the nice finds and keep your dad busy.........:)HH.

What great finds! Think of all the sports and couch potatoes out there? You got exercise and made a hell of a good day. It's alot of fun and you made a profit. What more can a person ask?

Thanks Holedigger. I guess they weren't so meager after all. I sure wish I would have found some silver. My buddy Lee is kicking my butt!! He got me into this wonderful hobby and since he use to be a Garrett's and White's guy and after I convinced him to get an Explorer I think I have created a monster.........:) This hobby is a lot of fun and I would rather be out swinging a coil instead of sitting around the house being a couch potato. HH.

I use to go fishing alot but since I got my Explorer XS, there is no time for me to go and do any fishing. I look at it this way, The fish are always going to be there anyways but the coins and relics are not going to be there always, so I say to heck with fishing, I've got to get out there and get as many of the coins and relics I can due to other detectorist's in the area. Thought I would just share my perspective on this wonderful hobby of metal detecting. HH.
