Melchizadek

He was a unique individual in scripture. Especially when you consider that Jesus was spoken of as a "Priest forever in the order of Melchizadek". I'm at work or I'd look up that whole passage and a few others!

When one considers Jesus' reason for destroying Sodom and Gomorrah - namely sin - it's interesting that in the middle of all those nations and or people, that were evil, there reigns a godly king by the name of Melchizedek. Therefore one can assume that not all the nations and or peoples were 'evil continually'. It's refreshing to see a godly presence among so many heathen nations and or peoples. That should give us hope that a godly presence can exist in an evil atmosphere.

Melchizadek was high priest in Jerusalem a long time ago. He never strayed from God.

Favorite verse John 8:12 Jesus said I am the light of the world. Those who follow me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.

God Bless,
Rick N. MI

God's Word states that Melchizedek was the King of Salem. I don't know if Salem and Jerusalem one in the same. I'm sure there are those who have that knowledge that would be glad to enlighten us.

Genesis 14:18

"And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he [was] the priest of the most high God."

- 1769 Oxford King James Bible 'Authorized Version

There are some thoughts that Melchizadek was actually Jesus. A ( Christophany ) if it was actually Jesus. Salem is another form of Shalom, and Melchizadek was the king of Salem/ Shalom. Abram even gave a tenth of everything he had to King Melchizadek. I'm not saying Melchizadek was Jesus. Just saying these scriptures still make me scratch my head. Thanks for the input. ><>

perfect and knows everthing being He is the Creator of all that is seen and unseen and is always present! Glory to God in the highest and Thank You, Jesus, Who is our High Priest forever more! Amen! Ma Betty
