Memorial Day surprise

I haven't been out with the MD very much lately. Actually got in a bit of work, which was a good thing!
And I've also been making little rocks, out of bigger ones. I think I posted them elsewhere...

The skipper decided I should go to sea on Memorial Day, and since he had gotten everything shipshape on his own,
AND funded the whole venture, I was bound to go. Shanghai'd, if nothing else...

This denizen of the deep was guarding Davey Jones' Locker. We sent him back to continue the good work.
Then promptly got another!

I've got the two we machines now, but just wasn't prepared to see what exactly they might have been guarding at 80ft!

Today I hit a couple of my regular parks, to see if the holiday crowds had left anything behind.
There was NOT much! I was certain some beeper had beat me to the punch... 'til I picked up a few quarters.

All told it was $1.45 in shiny clad (no pennies!), but I found the CO2 cylinder, a Matchbox Sweet 16 (it says on it), and a Titanium wedding band with stone! A real surprise!

So I began to check things out, when I got back to the keyboard...

A Titanium band runs from $100 to $350, with about a $60 add-on to set a stone in it.
Then I found the interesting story...
In the 1989 film, "The Abyss," one of the actors, Ed Harris, was saved by his Titanium wedding band when it prevented an automatic airlock door from closing on his fingers. A replica of that ring, used in the script, is still sold, today. Mine's a tad different.

So, I found the story interesting, as I had been at sea the day before... Yep, it's a real stretch, but nonetheless fun!

Recovers Many Pull Tab Relics

Thanks for sharing.

Looks like a Memorial Day.

We had River Fest over the weekend.

It's the biggest out door event if the

year in Arkie Land.

That and the Arkie heat and humidity

was enough for me.

HH,

That is some good digging for sure. The ring looks like it is new, I like it. Good story about it also, Beale.

Actually, both of the octopuses wanted to be somewhere else and punched their own ticket!

They weren't Daichi hooks or anything like that...
