Metal Detecting in Citrus and Sumter County

I am Recently retired and really enjoy the time i spent on days off metal detecting. Mostly Relic's and beach's. I have been a avid coin collector for the last 15 years so i also love those finds as well.I would like to start going out about 3-4 days a weeks.Maybe more depending on weather and how my back holds up. Im only 36, but during my 5 years in the service (ARMY) my body took a beating. So I'm an old 36 year old. lol. The resend am starting this thred is I would like to start and find a few people and to start going out together around the two county's I mentended above. Metal detecting is a lot more fun for me in groups. What good is a big find when you have no one to show it too. There are tons of sites just in these to countys that i know of, But Im open to taking trips to the beaches at any time. Im not sure am ready to say im starting a new club in this area, However, one is badly needed. But I would like to just see how many of you are open to this. Please reply back to this post or your can send me a personal email to Redreaper2002@ live.com.

Thanks for your time,

Nathan Smith

Thanks TheRick for seting it stright. Its in the center of Florida, Inverness, Is 20 minuites from Ocala, 45 minuites from Tampa, Gainsville, and Orlando. So Its very easy to cover a lot of Florida from this location. Many Old Indain sites and The desto and clark trails run right up the middle, Not to mention all the areas arround dade battal field, during the 2nd seminol war. Of course we can't go at the main site. But I do have freinds that own property around it. has lots of sign that the battal field cover a lot more area then what the government took as the main federal land. All of Florida has some of the best relic oppertunity's around, But i do travel arround and love road trips.

Thanks again,

Nathan Smith

Sounds Good Guys. Im thinking off going out tomorrow to try out a new detector I bought off ebay. Im just waiting to find out if my daughter will be flying back in from a texas visit and at what time. I should know that information with in the next few hours. If we cant work it out for tomorrow I am going out for sure on Monday in sumterville. Ya I also like zipping up to Tampa every once in awhile also theres a lot of good place off 75 between here an there. Sound like a plan.

Thanks,

Nathan
