Metal Detector pot's

New member
I have read some of the post about cleaning the pots in a detector, I would like to know what that is and how to do that. I have collected detectors for many years. I have over 30. I should learn something about what goes on inside the box. I know where to go for repairs (east Texas). Thanks for any help Dan

pots stand for potentiometers. when you have a detector that has knobs that you turn that is the pots. you can clean them with alcohol and a swab or you can use electronics spray cleaner. if you need more info just go to google and type in potentiometer and you will get a lot more useful info and you will find out what pots are used for and also what they are used in. hope this bit of info helps. have a nice day and happy hunting.
