Meteorite? or MeteorWrong?

Hoping I found my 1st Meteorite, it looks good & fairly heavy & magnet sticks to it. It's about the size of a baseball.
Would be nice if it is, but I'm not going to get too excited about it till I can confirm it.

Looks like its a Meteorwrong, I grinded a section on the belt sander & looked at it with a magnifier & it looks to be porous

Too bad, that woulda been a Very nice specimen. So what do you think it is now? Clinker from a furnace maybe?
What did it read on the TID?

probably just a hot rock. it looks different from other hot rocks I have dug but I'm guessing that's what it is. was reading 40 but if I lifted the coil it would give me a iron reading

Metal I will check one that I had that might look like yours, I had mine looked at and they told me what it was and I wroted it down. I will check when I get home this evening

Hey Metal the one I had was called marcasite. Does not look anything like yours or mine for that matter. I had actually chipped a piece of mine off and it was real silvery with some little veins running thru it. I might have to have mine looked at again by someone else. Sorry that I could not be of more help

Hay Metal Miner,

Check out this website http://www.meteoritesusa.com/how-to-find-meteorites.htm I think you got something there. I just stated hunting them, so I know almost nothing, but do have a hunch.
