well hello all! Just droppin' by to see what's happening in here and what you all have been up to. I'll be MIA till probably fall - so don't expect to see any finds. This place seems to have really slowed down - maybe just my imagination.
Was very sorry to hear about Wayne and his tragic mishap in the water. This points out just how dangerous water hunting can be, and we should all take notes from this tragedy. My sincere sympathy goes out to his family. Mines and caves can be just as dangerous and deadly. Be careful out there and don't take unnecessary risks to find any treasure. It's not worth your life. Always think about what could go wrong esp. when in the water. You only have minutes to save your own life. Know exactly what you'll do before it ever happens.
I've thought about how to avoid such things, and the only thing I've come up with other than
wearing a life preserver - is to have a big truck tire inner-tube attached to your waist with a rope. The inner-tube tire can used as a screen to sift stuff from bottom surface. If you do fall into a hole - you have access to an immediate flotation device. The other thing you can do is walk your planned route in the water without equipment and find out if any holes or ledges exist within close distance to where you'll be hunting.
Well enough on that subject. Enjoy the rest of your summer and be safe! HH!
