Midnight hunt with Tracker IV

New member
Feeling a bit bore last night and was thinking where a good hunting would be.
Then it dawn on me that the property across the street was vacant and thought to myself "what the heck".
I just started to swing the BH when "BANG" a solid signal bought out of the ground a 1894 Half penny.
I was getting a lot of broken signals, so I decided to dig one or two and both where lead head nails with the iron head still inserted into the lead part.
So I ignored those broken signals completely, took a few more swings where a solid, unbroken signal unearthed a 1956 Penny.
Two steps more and a 2c piece came out of the ground, once again a crisp clear signal.
This all took just 15 minutes before I ventured out the back of the house when the motion lights came on, time to go home.
A good little short hunt for the bored.
Unfortunately, I did mark the older coin.

That 1894 coin is a neat one for sure.
What is she riding, Is that a wheel chair?

I think that is a shield with the Union Jack embossed on it.
I went back to the same spot and scored another Half Penny (1942) and a few more 1 and 2 cent pieces.
Thanks for looking.
HH and cheers

could one night hunt with one of those elastic band flashlight around your head?

Gudday Ed,
Never thought of that, but then again you don't want to bring attention to yourself.
Also don't hunt alone at night, can get a bit airy at times.
I'm getting the small 4" coil for the local Goldfield. We'll see if it gets the real gold or not.
I read your post just now and it seems that you are pretty happy with the Tracker IV.
Great little machine.
Cheers and HH
