Could be? now that I think about the different globes, it could have been a larger type that I have seen!

I still think it belongs to an old antigue chandelier that was very ornate! Actually 5-1/2 inches is awfully wide even for a large kerosene lamp, but maybe I'm wrong, as it wouldn't be the first time!
