I decided the rain wouldn't kill me, and I hit the same spot I went to last night where the tombac button and musketball came from. I was hoping to land a nice military button.
Well, I got a button...but have no clue if it's military or civilian. Plain front flat button...there is a pattern on the back which is hard to make out, and a backmark which I can't quite make out <img src="/metal/html/frown.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt="

I also found an 1894 Indian Head, as well as a large cent (date unknown).
Anyone know if there are military buttons like this out there?! Or what period the button would be!? Thanks...
