Milk Run

Running the old eight totlot milkrun this am. This is only the 10th half dollar I've found in two years, none silver. It takes me an hour and a half to run this route. Just a bunch of public totters I go to on weekdays. Did find a 41 wheat in the dirt as well. 65 coins, 4.25 tot. barely gas money.
Had a semi poor clad count weekend. Three junk rings, and maybe 9 bucks clad. Scoping out some new spots furthur afield for someday serious run. Big numbers are getting harder to find close to home, I think I've pretty much depleted the easy pickins in the public areas, maybe time for a change of tactics and do some door knockin' before the beach sweep marathon begins...
Mud

Same with my area Mud. I ended up going 45-50 miles out to hit fresh areas last year. They still have been hunted alot. gonna try more relic hunting this year. :detecting:

Holiday breaks, bad weather, spring break and the like, keep the tots away and the lots emptier. I've got 3 or 4 that I pop on weekends and pickings have been lean of late. The county here just had spring break. Next weekend, watch out. 80's all week. Yep, they will be good next weekend. HH jim tn

I feel like I've also exhausted the close by parks in my area that I've hunted in the past couple of years. I am anxious to find a home owner who will let me hunt their yards. I am 0 and 5 last year and 0 and 1 this year on getting owner's permission. Seems they are pretty friendly until I tell them why I am at their front door. I think some people are intimidated by these fancy gadgets.
Funny story from a club member. Some years ago he approached this older couple about hunting their yard. They were out in the burbs and had a pretty historic house and land. They said yes, but come back two days from then as they wanted to be there to see him do it. He drove down the road two days later and there were the husband and wife out in their yard each swinging a metal detector. He kept right on driving down the road.
