Hello All. This is apparantly the original Excalibur. It has the horshshoe shaped 8" Coil. I'd really like an up to date machine and plan on traveling and diving at times. This I have had out 4 times and always found lots of clad coins and as pic shows two outings worth of cold winter beach finds, a few winter junk jewelry items. All Metal/Pinpoint, and Disc work great. I bought a few new knobs as one was missing. I'll include some extra knobs. Battery is a brand new NIMH and I've never come close to going lower than 12V after many hours usage- I have a battery tester and I checked this. I did buy this from a previous owner's nephew who said it was only used in sand, shoreline. I bought it to see if I like the Excalibur machine and I do! I want to buy a new Excalibur II , possibly with a 10" Coil.
Now, I cannot guarantree this is submersible as I have used it in winter in maybe thigh deep water in a bay, and along the shore by the Ocean, no problems. I did n ot dive with it. I am sure it certainly got wet but in such cold weather, I did not take it all under. I guarantee it to be fully functional on day of arrival. Turn it on, set threshold in all metal or Disc, and it will absolutely work fine. I used it on land in my inlaw's yard Jan 1st and ground was hard to dig! Cold. Blisters. No real digging device, just a garden trowel. But for sure, I knew when I had a coin or pull tab. Found maybe 10 coins those few hours and some pull taps and a VERY deep beer can!
Beach, no problem in really any sand including black. I show pics of the coil which is in great shape. All looks nice for an older machine. This is perfect for those wanting to search beaches along shore, partial water. But submerge the unit at your own risk. When I bought it, it had a square 9 volt battery installed! Weird. I bought a new NIMH battery pack on Ebay, installed it, and it works great. I bought a coil;d stablizer for it from Kellyco and I guess I'll include it as I will buy another when I buy a new Excal II but I need to sell this first.
$500 + Shipping (my cost) to anyone in USA. Insurance will be added. No takers here, it'll go on Ebay for $600. I prefer to sell to those knowing what this is. Includes Excalibur 800, some extra knobs, instalkled NIMH New battery, original Excalibur trickle charger.
