I have the Detector Itch and am selling off a several things for the funds needed for the new purchase.

The Xterra 705 is flawless and only a couple months old. I have used it about 8 hours and works perfect. Comes as factory shipped with stock coil that has never been mounted. Weather beater cover installed when assembled so not a scratch. Also instruction manual and instructional DVD. All of this in the original box. $550.00 shipped CONUS.

Whats the difference between the Xtera700 and the 705? are there any big performance differances?

Prospector 55,
According to Minelab's X-Terra brochure, the 705 is better, faster and deeper than the first generation X-Terra series. I don't know what it was they tweaked in the software. But my 705 seems to hunt about 10 - 15% deeper than my X-70 did. Along with the upgraded software, they added a fourth Pattern mode. They added a backlight for those who hunt after dark. They added Ground BalanceTracking Offset that can allow the ground balance to maintain an offset of up to 15 points (either positive or negative) while in a tracking mode. And, they added a second Pinpoint mode (Sizing Pinpoint) that helps you determine the size and shape of a target while continuing to provide TID. Hope this answers your question

I have decided to get a new Minelab Etrac and can't afford it without selling the 705. I have already sold 2 other detector and a couple coils. Now all I need to sell is the X terra and I should have enough $'s. It is in excellent condition and was used about 8 hours. ( 2 outings) I had a x terra 70 and liked it so bought the 705. The E trac has excellent qualities for depth and hunting in trash eliminating masking. I happen to have several spots I want to give it a good run.

No, I've decided rather than take a beating on it to use it as it is a excellent detector. I was just wanting to try the Etrac for its unmasking capabilities. After getting a bit of tutoring from my brother Digger, I have now decided to work with 28 tones and have found it to be quite interesting how you can really sort out the crap from the goodies. It has proven to allow me to sort out targets in way I didn't know was possible. So I'm going to just keep it, as it is a great detector. Maybe down the road I may again think of the Etrac, but on hold for now.
