Minelab GT sov. - your tips.

Hi there - I'm Simon from Poland. I have a :minelab: Sov GT till few days... I'm looking for coins :detecting:. Whats your tips and hints for adjusting a GT minelab. I haven't found any coin.... What am i doing bad? Please insert some photos of GT front panel, adjusted for coins...

Read the owners manual to see what all the controls do for you and get familiar with them. I don't have a picture of the controls here, but I will tell you what to do and where to set them the best i can. The volume control and on and off control is one control and should be turned max clockwise. The disc and notch controls turned all the way counter clockwise so they are off, Sensitivity set also to all the way counter clockwise until it click so you are in auto sensitivity to begin with to help you learn the GT. The toggle switch you set the freq one to 2 as it seems to work better. The one for track/lock and pinpoint set to pinpoint as the track and lock is only for all metal use and if you are looking for coins you will run the other toggle switch in iron mask on as you will be in disc. Now turn the threshold control while holding the coil away from any metal and set it for a slight hum and you are ready to detect. place several coins and some trash items on the ground and go over them and try to wiggle the coil over just each of the targets and try to get the tone as steady as you can, now you will see what this target will sound like and if you have a meter you will also see what number it will read.
Take you time when out hunting and go slow as the Sovereigns are a slow sweeping detector that see a lot and you need to hear every target to see if it is good or bad. On iron or any item that is disc out you will get a null in the threshold, so this will be normal and you should be able to hear the threshold come and go with each sweep of the coil, if not slow the sweep speed down a bit.
It will take some time and experience with this detector to get to know it,but when you do you will find it is very accurate and easy to use.
