Minelab Koss UR 30 headphone!

duggr

New member
I picked up a pair of Brand New Koss UR 30 to give them a try on my x-terra. They have
a pretty decent overall volume compared to other headphones I tried. More Volume than
the Rats I sold and a better tone than My Jimmy Sierra maxiphone I had. But whoever designed
them needs to go back to the drawing board and design a better housing for the speakers!
I think a 10-15 MPH wind gust would blow them off your head...I guess I will Gut them and install
the speakers into a Pair of Thunder 29's....

I got my KOSS-UR30 last week and sound is much better then the Jolly Roger I first ordered.
They are a bit bulky and fit is loose, though comfortable. But as you say in strong wind it would blow them off your head,or at last it feels so.
Also the cord is a bit short, but overall good headphones.
I think they are nice in colder weather since they keep your ears warm. But for summertime,no way, then I pick up my Koss PortaPro.

I agree! The cord is way short, so I will install a longer one...But the sound and Volume is better than most, so
worth the time to improve them...

I used the UR30's from my GP-3000 on my X-Terra 70 and they worked fine. Nice soft ear cups and I have no complaint with the housing or did not notice wind would blow them off. But my major complaint is they have no individual volume controls on each ear cup and I do need that.

Those are a good pair of noise reduction ear protection. Are you posting a how to over on the Modification forum?

Jeff

I use these http://www.kellycodetectors.com/accessories/index.php?model=960-4010126
They work great!

Yes, I will be posting in the Modifications forum...

I really don't need a Volume control on my headphones as My X-terra has its own....
The less components in a set of headphone's the less problems you will have down the
road.....

Here you go Jeff!
